Orthodox Church of Sts Cyril and Methodius

Not far from the town centre, on Slovanské náměstí, stands the Orthodox Church of Sts Cyril and Methodius. It was built by Archimandrite Andrej in 1946–1948.

The church was completed as a memorial to those who fell in the Second World War and in remembrance of Bishop Gorazd, who was sentenced and executed for helping the paratroopers who assassinated Reinhard Heydrich in Prague in 1942.
